Tea sounds dandy. [20 Apr 2009|05:33pm]

[ mood | creative ]

Hi there. I noticed no one's posted in awhile...and I'd like to suggest a meet-up. I, myself, do not dress lolita, as much as I would like to. xD But I'm "Lolita at heart", lmao. Anywho, this is just a thought. I'd like to organize a "tea party". I just attended one, I really enjoyed it, and it inspired me. SOOO, I have a few ideas as to where it could be held in Louisville. If anyone is interested and would like to take this idea further, please contact me! :D
Thank you. ^^

November/December Meet-up? [26 Aug 2008|11:15pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting to this community. I simply wanted to ask if anyone here would be interested in having a meet-up in either the Lexington/Richmond area before the end of the year. I know of several wonderful meet-up places. I would love to host one soon and hope to hear back from some of you. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of Kentucky Lolita. I would simply like to get to know my fellow Kentuckian Lolita. Feel free to add or pm.

LFPL Anime-Con [04 Aug 2008|05:22pm]

So I'm new to this community and all, but I was so excited when I saw it listed!!  Anyways, so as many Louisvillians should know, the Anime-Con at the main branch of the library is this weekend.  I'm going with two of my friends and I'll be in lolita garb Saturday, at least.  (Maybe both days.)  Is anyone else coming??

Don't know if anyone watches this thing or not, but... [18 Apr 2008|03:00pm]

Anybody in or around Newport, KY ? DeVotchka is playing at the southgate house there on the 22 of may and I will probably be going, and will probably be dressed up for the show. Thought I'd check, just in case ...

MY MULLET NEEDS MOAR LACE. [12 Dec 2007|02:27pm]

Anyone going to Ohayocon ? There's supposed to be a lolita gathering there ... I'm going down on saturday for that event, but not staying for the rest. I'm not a big fan of cons.

Here's a thread about the lolita event : http://forums.ohayocon.org/viewtopic.php?t=1008

... in case anyone is interested.

Loli meetup? [17 Feb 2007|10:50pm]

I come from California, and Louisville feels like the boonies compared. I'm so excited to find out that there's actually a lolita gathering here. Honestly, I know how Momoko feels now.

Is there any chance of a Lolita meetup?

“Have You Read the Works of Lewis Carroll?” tonight in Frankfort [13 Oct 2006|11:36am]

Frankfort—Liberty Hall Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark, located in downtown Frankfort, introduces a new fall series for literature enthusiasts and novices alike. The “Have You Read the Works Of…?” series explores the works of three familiar authors both read and appreciated by the Brown family. You’re invited to take a journey with a local literary scholars to discover how familiar authors are connected to Kentucky culture and history. Beginning tonight, Friday, October 13, at 7:00 p.m. LHHS will host “Have You Read the Works of Lewis Carroll?” at the Orlando Brown House. Join University of Kentucky Masters of Literature, Amanda Stroud, for a look at the publishing of Alice in Wonderland. Haven’t read Lewis Carroll in a while? Do not distress; the program invites anyone to revisit this pivotal children’s fantasy author without any homework.

One of the additional features of these programs is that each one will serve topic appropriate refreshments. Enjoy a Tea Party and tasty treats pulled from the pages of Alice and Wonderland. Also, attendees will have the opportunity to win a topic appropriate gift.

Cost is $8.00. Group rates and package deals are available. Program complements both high school and college level literature courses. Because of limited space, reservations are required. For more information or to make reservations, call LHHS at 502/227-2560 or 1-888-516-5101 or email at libhall@dcr.net.

I am greatly displeased that I'll be out of town for this (and that they didn't send out a newsletter on the subject a little earlier!), it sounds like a lovely evening.

Ah..well..it doesn't seem like either janchan or I will be coming to the meet up. I haven't been able to really get my outfit together (so far I've only bought the hat =/) and Jan just can't go. ._.; So uhh...ah-yup. I could probably get my outfit together in time, but I really don't like the idea of me going without her! D:

Alrighty ... There seems to be a decent amount of interest in a meetup, so its time to work out the details.

I still really like the idea of meeting and riding the trolley around. Though, since the louisville metro government sucks ... errr ... lolipops (yeah, lolipops) ... they shut down the bardstown road trolley (that was every weekend). Witch means that our next best bet would be the Frankfort ave trolley, witch means that the meetup would have to be the last friday of the month. I'd say that we (or I, or someone) should determine a sutable place on frankfort for us to gather and take pictures, and then proceed to a coffehouse to sit and chat (or vice versa ?), and then if we dont all find eachother terribly boring we can then do some walking and trolley riding and check out the shops.

So, the question is, how many of you would be available on saturday the 29th of this month, around five o'clock ?

Would it better to shoot for the last friday of october instead? Or, should we toss out the trolley idea so that the date is more flexible ?

*edit* ... I made an oopsie and said saturday the 29th ... witch is really dumb of me, because I already said it would be the last friday of the month. Whoops. So yes, it would be friday the 29th of september.

Hello ? ... Heeelllooooo....... [04 Sep 2006|06:17am]

I posted quite a while back about the prospect of having a meetup ... I couldn't really follow through with it for personal reasons, but since things have settled down for me I would like to give it another go. 16 members is a good amount of people for such a thing, but I have a feeling that most of you wouldnt attend a meeting for various reasons ... school, work, lack of transportation, lack of clothing, etc. So I'd like for anyone who thinks they would want to attend to let me know, and anyone who thinks they cant/wont to let me know why. ... If I only get two or three replies I'll figure that no-one cares, and then I guess I'll find the closest active lolita group in the surrounding cities and try orginazing a carpool to those events for those of us who are interested. ... At the very least I'll pick a date and a location and hope I'm not the only one that shows >.<

Hope to hear from some of y'all.
